Seeing the Noble Prophet ﷺ in dreams

Must read

Some of us are in a state of despair because we do not see the Noble Prophet ﷺ in our dreams. This especially comes as a result of hearing from others who have experienced seeing him ﷺ in their dreams. Yearning for this is really expected from us as a sign of Love but this is an issue that has to be analysed well for us to understand.

A very sound and generally accepted requirement for one to see the Noble Prophet ﷺ in dreams is for you to be of Iman and of sincerity in following the Orders of Almighty Allah and in having a profound love for him ﷺ

Though in some instances, the above stated may be satisfied but the expected result won’t still be in effect. Everything happens according to the Will of Allah, and He is ‘Fa’alun Lima Yurid’ – Doer of whatever He intends to do (as He wishes).
Indeed we know of the story of Seydina Uwais Al’Qarni (RadiyAllahu Ta’ala anhu) who never saw the Noble Prophet ﷺ in person throughout his lifetime but had so much deep love for him ﷺ and he was confirmed by the Noble Prophet ﷺ himself as a Blessed person and the Sahabah were asked to seek his Blessings wherever they found him. Seyyidina Uwais (RA) never saw the Prophet ﷺ in person but this didn’t hinder his Love and he was so beautiful in character as he was known to have taken good care of his mother.

There is also a story we heard about a Christian man who had terminal disease and was spending his last days on the sickbed of the hospital. He happened to see the Beloved Prophet ﷺ in his dreams and was invited by the Prophet ﷺ who the man had described as this: “In my dream, I saw a very handsome man who invited me to accept the Religion of Islam.”. He took the Shahadah and became a Muslim before dying shortly after. This is the case of a man who was not a Muslim but was a Christain and he was still chosen by Almighty Allah for the Great Mercy and Grace

Indeed we have been told in the Holy Qur’an:

ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
Such is the Bounty of Allah, which He bestows on whom He will: and Allah is the Lord of the highest bounty. (Suratul Jumu’a, Verse 4)

Almighty Allah is the Perfect One, the All-Knowing and the Most Wise. He does whatever He wishes and His Doings are always Perfect and Beautiful. He bestows His Bounties on whomever He wishes.

But this doesn’t change the fact that we are expected to strive and work as sincere Muslims as much as we can to enjoy the Bounties of Almighty Allah.
Many Awliya in the past were able to experience the Noble Prophet ﷺ in wakefulness at different stages of their life – while some experienced this early, others experienced this late. This doesn’t mean that the former are more noble than the latter. These are only examples for us to see that He (Allah) bestows upon His servants the Bounties He intends in the manner He wishes.

One may have been praying for a spouse, child, a job or some other favor from Almighty Allah but he sees his prayers are not answered. We have been made to understand that all these are only part of the Beautiful Will of Allah and we are advised to never lose Faith in Him. The reality of every delay is a Blessing if we only knew.

A wealthy relative of Sayyida Khadijah (RadiyAllahu Ta’ala anha) had narrated how he had spent a lot in freeing slaves and captives during the Jahiliyyah Period (Period of Ignorance). So he asked whether he would be rewarded for all those acts of goodness he had done in the past before becoming a Muslim. He was given a beautiful reply: “That is why you were blessed with Islam” and indeed there is no greater gift than the Religion of Islam!

There is no doubt about these: Whoever is sincere and has Love for the Noble Prophet ﷺ will definitely feel the sweetness before death and die a beautiful death and will be in the company of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ in the Akhirah. We have been told in a beautiful Hadith: “On that day, you will be with who you love”. Also, whatever good act we do (no matter how small it may be), the reward awaits us in the Akhirah.

Never give up on your Love for Rasulullah ﷺ. This is what matters most! No matter how broken you are, he ﷺ is So Merciful and always ready to accept your Love with So Much Love in return. Even if you do not love him ﷺ, he ﷺ loves you. If you love him, he ﷺ loves you so much more beyond the maximum limit of your imagination. If you crawl slowly to him ﷺ, he ﷺ will run very fast to you. May the Infinite Peace, Blessings and Praises of Almighty Allah continue to be upon him in every moment. Aameen

We all wish for the Best and indeed all of us yearn for our dreams to be beautified with the sight of our Beautiful Noble Beloved Prophet ﷺ . O Allah! Adorn us with the Best of Manners, make us worthy and grant us the Grace out of Your Mercy (even if we’ll never be worthy) to feel Deep Love in our insides, to experience its sweetness and to see Your Beloved Prophet ﷺ in our dreams. O Allah! Make Your Beloved Prophet ﷺ the coolness of our eyes, the essence of our moments and the sweetness of our lives. O Allah! Make it compulsory for each and every one of us, our loved ones and the entire creation (those we know and those we do not know) to be counted among the Most Beautiful Company – with Your Noble Prophet ﷺ. Aameen!
